Voices in St. Augustine

So, has everyone read Voices in St. Augustine? Were you surprised at how it ended? If you've visited St. Augustine at any time,  you may have seen some of the same places Joey spoke about. How cool would it be to really be able to visit the past, and see how people really lived? 
Personally, I have to agree with Joey. I don't see how anyone in Florida lived without A/C. I know my family didn't get an AC until I was in about the 4th grade. Boy what a difference it made! I think I'm pretty spoiled now, with central heat and air at my beckon call!
What about you? What was your favorite part of the book? I liked the very end, where he met that elderly man's "past self" when he was a little kid. Creepy! But cool!
